Election , wow ! How did that happen?

I'm a socialist at heart, but I like to think I'm a realist socialist. I think that those that need help in society can be given it and looked after but also that people should be able to make a few quid and shouldn't be punished for being successful. Five years ago three mates and I left the Labour party because of what it was becoming and we said at the time it was becoming unelectable. Corbyn, Momentum and the whole sorry mess have destroyed what was that party. The fact that he hasn't stood down already , that his supporters both in parliament and on the ground haven't admitted their mistake just epitomises the sheer refusal to accept the truth. Ive seen them on here , actually blaming the "stupid electorate" in the same way as the dark knight hops around in that Monty Python film announcing "tis but a flesh wound". No it isn't its terminal, your far left militant dogma has no backing with the electorate , You cannot replace him with any of his shadow cabinet. Labour needs a centre left leader with a centre left view.If you don't do that the Conservatives will be in power nationally for decades. I don't take any pleasure from the result tonight , especially here in the Forest. We are in for Thatcher type years that will hurt many people. It means winning next years County elections is vital to the Forest of Dean Council and if the Forest of Dean as a sovereign district is to survive. Locally we needed to have a change of MP. We didn't because the other parties wouldn't stand down. If the situations the same in five years I hope they think differently, although it wont be me standing then as Ill be too old. The worst most damaging spiteful government in my memory, with a liar and a clown at its head, has just won a massive and historical mandate. Despite the vindication there's nothing to celebrate here this morning, a huge opportunity for real change missed.
